Level 4 Courses
Description
There is such a wealth of pole dance material at this Level
that it's been necessary to divide into 3 further stages to
allow for more focussed lessons. Having gained your basic
upside-down (inversion) techniques at Level 3, Level 4 opens
up a new vista of inverted transitions, tricks and challenges.
Of course in addition to the inverts, we also work on upright
up the pole (aerial) tricks, one or two spins and combo's,
fluid transitions between tricks and pole dance steps (never
forgetting it is a dance skill!)
Level 4A - Intermediate 1
Introducing new inverted and aerial tricks, and developing
previously-learned material from 'practice' to 'performance'
versions, with clean lines and smooth entries, exits and transitions.
This course includes a significant segment of pole-conditioning
and strength / flexy work designed to prep for tricks in more
advanced levels.
Entry requirement guidance:
1. Able to hold confident inverted Crucifix (0 hands)
2. And Straight Leg Hold, 1 handed
Level 4B - Intermediate 2
Again, work on new inverted and aerial tricks is started,
and previously-learned material is developed from 'practice'
to 'performance' versions, with clean lines and smooth entries,
exits and transitions. 'Advanced' variations of earlier tricks
are taught, with more challenging grip techniques and shapes.
This course includes a significant segment of pole-conditioning
and strength / flexy work designed to prep for tricks in more
advanced levels.
Entry requirement guidance:
1. Able to hold confident hands-free Angel (Scorpio), Gemini and Cross Leg Release
2. And Side V
3. Able to perform Basic Invert high on both sides
Level 4C - Intermediate 3
Here there is prep for the incredibly demanding moves at
Level 5, and further refinement of previous material into
'performance' versions, and more advanced variations.
Entry requirement guidance:
1. Able to hold confident Butterfly in both Split and Forearm/Elbow Grip
2. Gemini both sides
3. Superman
It is common for the stages at Level 4 to be repeated
as often as required, to build up the requisite strength and
familiarity with the tricks and techniques before moving onwards.
More about Level 4
There's no time limit, move on once key techniques and tricks
have been mastered (Instructor will advise).
At
this Level, classes tend to be 1 per pole in a class of 4-5
max, guaranteeing the personal attention of the Instructor
and optimal practice time.
Each
class starts with a quick and easy mini-dance-routine to keep
spins from ealier Levels fresh, and to continue warming up.
The
classes will also include a section to music designed to build
strength and flexibility, targeting areas required for future
pole tricks, and general pole conditioning.
Most
of the moves at this Level are 'works in progress'. They will
be broken down into 'stages' and baby steps, please do expect
them to take longer to achieve.
Students with poles at home may request 'homework' and guidance
on background conditioning / strength building work to be
carried out between classes, if required.
SAFETY
IS AN ABSOLUTE PRIORITY at Poleminx - you won't be allowed
to attempt upside down moves without pole mats, a spotter,
familiarisation from the floor first, and a thorough breakdown
of technique!
Tricks are taught strictly in order of difficulty and with
a logical route of progression, leaping ahead without prior
training/prep will not be allowed, to prevent muscle injury
and potential joint damage.
